World Hospice Day - OCT 7, 2006
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day
is the opportunity for all to raise awareness about the importance of hospice and palliative care and the issues surrounding its delivery throughout the world.
It's not too late to plan on taking part, here are a few ideas to help you.

1/ Write to policy makers in your country regarding a barrier to hospice and palliative care service delivery.

2/ Write to key public figures for endorsements and messages of support for hospice and palliative care services in your country and World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.

3/ Have a national call for action/campaign eg opioid availability, adding palliative care on health care curriula, developing a bereavement service etc.

4/ Get an article published in a national/local newspaper on the issues surrounding palliative care in your locality or country.

5/ Hold a news conference on World Hospice and Palliative Care Day and the current issues facing service delivery in your country/region.
