Philippines

Thank you so much for sending me a collection of materials about hospice care around the world. It was indeed heartwarming to receive the CDs, books and journals from you under the Clearing House Program.

Rest assured that I will contribute my best to the advancement of hospice care in my country. Certainly, there are highly dedicated individuals who have started this type of noble care in this part of the world, but there is still a wide gap between givers and receivers that has to be addressed.

I am with you in propagating the art and science of hospice care in the developing nations. My desire is to do more...and it starts with my hospice care education, eventually evolving into practice.

With all my best wishes for the promotion of palliative care and hospice care worldwide, particularly in developing nations like the Philippines,

Brazil

Yesterday, I received in the Post Office, the journals and publications that you sent me as part of the Clearing House Program. I will send them to a small Pallitive Care Unit located in the extreme south of Brazil near the border with Uruguay , called Pelotas . This unit is only 18 months old, and has treated 150 advanced cancer patients. Medical students of preclinical years are volunteering in this unit and they feel it has been a great success. Before sending them the donation, I shall have stamped in each one of them, the word DONATED BY INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR HOSPICE AND PALLIATIVE CARE ( Houston, US ).

Thank you for the wonderful gift.

Saludos
Marco Tullio
