First Global Leadership Forum for Cancer Control – GO PUBLIC

September 23-26, 2009 – Ottawa, Canada

Presented by the Campaign to Control Cancer in an unprecedented collaboration with the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the International Union Against Cancer, this three-day conference is the first of its kind to address the new and emerging idea of advancing cancer control through public engagement. We expect 600 people from around the world to attend, including leading international cancer professionals, practitioners, patients, advocates, representatives of government and the private sector, as well as concerned citizens.

The key message of the Forum: How a civil society becomes meaningfully engaged, informed and active as a participant in changing personal, societal, medical and political attitudes, behaviours and actions, to control cancer?
