The need for palliative care training in developing nations is enormous, the IAHPC's programs go someway to addressing this need.

Since 1999, the IAHPC Traveling Fellowship Program has provided financial assistance worldwide to palliative care professionals who accept invitations to teach for a period of 1-2 weeks in developing countries where the host organization could not otherwise afford such services.

The Traveling Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to individuals from developing countries working in palliative care, so they are able to attend a major palliative care meeting, seminar, training course or conference.
