CANCER IN AFRICA - The New Reality

The African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) is pleased to announce its seventh international conference on the burden of cancer in Africa

THE CONFERENCE

The theme for AORTIC 2009 is Cancer in Africa - the New Reality and the conference will focus on all aspects of cancer care and management: from prevention to early diagnoses to treatment and palliation. It will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 11-14 November 2009.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

AORTIC 2009 will be an excellent opportunity to present and discuss your research in a multidisciplinary forum of cancer professionals. You are invited to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation: download the abstract specifications here. The deadline is 20 March 2009.

BURSARIES (DELEGATE FUNDING)

Limited full and partial bursary (funding) opportunities are available. You can download the application form here. The application deadline is 27 March 2009 and applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 15 May 2009 . Preference will be given to those that submit an abstract and thereafter, nurses and non-MD practitioners.

REGISTRATION

Registration will open in March 2009 with discounts for AORTIC members and early birds. Accommodation at the designated conference hotels can also be booked through the registration process.
