MAYDAY PAIN & SOCIETY FELLOWSHIP:
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR 2007

The Mayday Fund, a New York City-based foundation dedicated to alleviating pain, is now accepting applications for the 2007 Mayday Pain & Society Fellowship; A Media & Policy Fellows Initiative
Having served as a member of the advisory committee for three years, I have seen first hand the quality and benefit of this program.  I heartily recommend this Fellowship to persons looking to hone their communications skills and increase their impact in the public sphere to benefit people in pain.
It is a great opportunity that will train leaders to become proficient at working with the media and policymakers on important issues in pain treatment and management. The program starts with a four-day communications and policy training in Washington, D.C., from October 22-25, 2007. Over the course of the five months following the training, Mayday Fellows get the chance to work one-on-one with communications professionals to develop a media strategy for a goal of their choosing.

The deadline for the Fellowship is June 1st, 2007.
Complete information is available at
http://www.painandhealth.org/maydayfellows/fellows.html

Given the ever-increasing interest and concern held regarding pain management, this Fellowship provides an important opportunity for more experts to step forward and get involved.  I strongly encourage interested individuals to consider applying or to share this information with someone you believe would make a good Fellowship candidate.

Best regards,
