The
Pharmacy Technology Program is, consequently, geared at producing a cadre
with appropriate skills to be able to advance the relevant principles of the
National Health Policy. A cadre equipped with such knowledge should also
have intersectoral collaboration and communication skills to be able to
impart knowledge to diverse health care providers, individuals and
communities; as well as being able to participate in planning, implementation
and evaluation of the communityís health care. The semesterized curriculum
has been designed to ensure a thorough understanding of the content in each
subject covered and where appropriate this has been supplemented with
relevant practical experiences both in the laboratory and the field to bridge
the gap between knowledge acquired during training and the actual practice of
pharmacy. In this respect, the learner
will be expected to gain valuable insight into the realities and constraints
confronting the performance of the pharmaceutical sector. |
