Janet L. Jones

Janet L. Jones, President/CEO joined Alive Hospice on April 21, 1997. She has been involved in the hospice movement since 1979 and was the founding Director of Catholic Hospice in Miami, FL., serving there from 1988 to April 1997.

Jan has leadership and management experience in hospital, hospice and home health environments. A member of the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), she has served on the Nominating and the Ethics Committees. She also chaired the sub-committee which created the NHPCO Code of Ethics and Business Ethics Guiding Principles. Jan is Past-President of the American College of Oncology Administrators, Tennessee Hospice Organization and the Association of Non-Profit Executives (ANE). She also chaired the committee which created the ANE Code of Ethics. Jan is active in several civic groups, including the Nashville Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Nashville. In addition, Jan serves on the following boards: International Association of Hospice and Palliative Care, Nashville Metro Hospital Authority and United Way.

Her experience includes operating two separate hospice in-patient facilities, successfully leading two hospice organization redesign projects, achieving Joint Commission Accreditation in hospital, hospice and home health settings, and conducted a successful capital campaign to raise $12 million resulting in the building of a 30 bed Hospice Residential facility which opened on July 17, 2000. The Residence is uniquely located in the heart of the urban community.
